The cardinals are visiting us here in Florida, but soon we will head home to Chesapeake Bay and birds of a difference color; nature is so very interesting!
I don't know what it is about Florida, but my stays here always seem to involve the medical profession, and I mean on the receiving end. Last you heard from me, I was suffering a broken wrist and thumb rupture. All mended, thanks to surgery and much physical therapy. Of course, the thumb will never be the same, meaning that it can't quite keep up with its sibling thumb, but what the heck, it works well enough to carry the title of 'thumb'.
Meanwhile, I've been working hard on the next historical/time travel/paranormal novel and project publication in the fall of 2017 at the latest. History and genealogy, combined, are very interesting and exciting topics for me. To what time period would you travel, had you the opportunity? To whom of your ancestors would you care to visit? Have you ever thought of what your ancestors had to endure for you to be alive in the 21st century? It's mindboggling!
My newest tale takes please in the Chesapeake Bay area in the 17th century. Each one of my books is a learning experience for me; the dialect, the clothing, the political atmosphere, the culture and historical events, all require research. So, though it takes me time to accomplish the above, I strive to produce not only a story that represents that particular place in time, but also one that is exciting and entertaining as well.
Sneak peek: Cassandra Pratt is a wealthy, privileged, modern day miss, who finds herself rudely whipped back to the 17th century. Not only is she misplaced in time, but is alarmed to find herself stranded on a pirate ship in Chesapeake Bay, with none other for company than an uncouth, fiery tempered young woman named Izzie Pratt, who has been exiled from England for thievery and prostitution. Though the women share a surname, they also share a mutual dislike for one another. This mutual dislike backfires when it becomes necessary to depend upon each other for survival in the wilds of the Eastern Shore of Maryland, after the pirate ship loses a sea battle and sinks.
Thanks for visiting my site, and stay tuned!
